Product overview
Vial washing before sterile filling requires more than a simple water rinse. Different washing media must remain separated, internal surfaces must receive controlled high-pressure cleaning, and the final stages must prepare each vial for subsequent sterilization.
The Automatic Tunnel Type Linear Vial Washing Machine is designed around this multi-stage pharmaceutical washing process.
Technogen Enterprise is a Manufacturer and Supplier of Automatic Tunnel Type Linear Vial Washing Machine equipment for Tanzania, offering production capacities from 50 to 400 vials per minute for pharmaceutical and injectable formulation plants. The machine cleans both the internal and external surfaces of vials and glass bottles through linear intermittent movement.
Three independent washing circuits are incorporated using AISI 316L tanks and centrifugal pumps:
- Recirculated Water – Used for the initial washing process.
- Purified / DM Water – Provides the intermediate purified-water wash.
- WFI Water – Used for final pharmaceutical-grade washing.
These liquid stages are followed by sterile compressed air, creating a structured cleaning sequence before the vials leave the washing tunnel.
The machine provides 10 internal washing stages and 2 external washing stages, with electrically controlled spray duration. Both washing sequence and washing time can be adjusted according to the vial, process and production requirement.
All critical components exposed to the washing zone, water jets and process water are manufactured from SS 316 material, while the main machine body is manufactured from SS 304.
Vials from 5 ml to 30 ml can be processed without change parts. Additional change parts are used for 2 ml and 50–100 ml vial formats.
Once washing is complete, the out-feed can be connected directly to a sterilizing tunnel or the washed vials can be collected in trays, allowing the machine to fit different pharmaceutical line layouts.
Working principle
Vials enter the machine through the in-feed SS 304 wire-mesh conveyor and move from left to right through the washing tunnel.
As each vial advances through the machine, it passes through a programmed series of internal and external washing zones.
The standard process uses three different water qualities:
- Recirculated Water for preliminary washing.
- Purified / DM Water for intermediate washing.
- WFI Water for final high-purity rinsing.
Sterile compressed air follows the liquid washing cycles.
High-pressure spray nozzles direct the washing media towards the vial surfaces while individual spray-zone duration is controlled electrically.
The machine completes 10 internal washes and 2 external washes during the cycle. The sequence can be modified according to process requirements.
Separate filtration is provided for recycled water, DM Water, WFI and compressed air.
Four glycerin-filled pressure gauges monitor:
- Recycled Water
- DM Water
- WFI Water
- Compressed Air
Machine speed is adjusted using a Variable Frequency Drive.
After completion of the washing sequence, clean vials are discharged either towards a sterilizing tunnel or into collection trays.

Automatic Tunnel Type Linear Vial Washing Machine for Tanzania production
For manufacturers in Tanzania, Automatic Tunnel Type Linear Vial Washing Machine should be evaluated against the actual product, pack format, production schedule and operating environment. High-capacity linear vial washing system for pharmaceutical and injectable production, combining recycled water, purified water, WFI and sterile compressed-air cycles with 10 internal and 2 external washes. The selected arrangement must suit both routine output and the changeovers expected during normal production.
Operating and product considerations
Container preparation is defined by the bottle, vial or ampoule material, dimensions, contamination risk and required washing sequence. The handling parts, rinse stages, air treatment and drainage arrangement must be compatible with the container and the cleanliness objective of the production process.
Planning the complete production line
The washer is normally assessed with the downstream filling operation, available treated-water supply, compressed air, drainage and room layout. Tanzania projects should confirm utilities and container transfer early because these inputs influence both equipment configuration and the surrounding facility plan.
Information required for machine selection
- Container drawing and material
- Required internal and external wash sequence
- Water, air and drainage utilities with downstream interface
Enquiries are supported for projects in Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Mwanza, Arusha, Morogoro and other Tanzanian industrial locations. The final model, construction, output, documentation and support scope are confirmed in the commercial and technical offer.
